Not sure how else to get the word out, so here's the details! and welcome to my blog.
We will be staying at the group site at Manchester State Park the night of the 26th to the morning of the 27th. That's a Saturday/Sunday trip for those who don't have a calendar out.
Who's invited: EVERYONE (except pets/animals. there will be one shy dog present, mine.), this event is also kid friendly, but there will probably be alcohol present, fyi.
What is this event: It's a bike camp out. Arrive on your bike, pack your camping gear, some snacks, and bring good vibes. I'll bring the board games and even more snacks (more details below)
Why: Because the bikepacking/camping community in Seattle needs another hangout! duh!
Cost: Free, BUT this campsite and the snacks/drinks provided will cost me a fair amount of dough, so donations will be accepted. Just ask me for my venmo at camp (im the bald one) if you want to pitch in. No pressure though. Just your presence is enough <3
When: October 26-27, 2024. Show up after 3 pm on the 26th, and get outta there before noon on the 27th.
Group Ride to Camp:
What would a bike campout be without a group ride?! I will be leading a group ride to camp, starting from Lake Union. There will also be a mechanic and sweep. The pace will be averaging 10-12 MPH with a couple stops to regroup if necessary.
Details: Roll out from The Center for Wooden Boats on Lake Union near the splash pad at 11:35. It's a 15 mile ride to the Fauntleroy ferry from there. Feel free to meet up with everyone at the ferry if you want to do your own thing to get there. We will be catching the 1:35 pm ferry to Southworth, assuming the ferry is running on time. Then, it's another 8 miles to the campsite from the Southworth ferry terminal.
At Camp:
Nonalcoholic beverages will be provided like sodas and sparkling waters, but feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverages. There will also be board games and s'mores for everyone!
There's also TONS of space here and we have our own bathrooms/showers in the campsite. If it rains, there is a massive shelter, so rain wont stop us! There's also a fire pit for the s'mores.
